It has been awhile since I worked on the car. Since we had such great weather over the weekends, that is the only time I have to take care of cleaning up and spraying the property. Well over the last two weekends, I managed to get four radiators and four 10 foot channel for side-irons. I cannot believe I was able to get this channel so cheap. It normally costs $84 per channel but I managed to get all four pieces for $60. Thanks Jerry!
This weekend I inspected last years roll posts and cross-member. Because of the driver's door hit from last August, One roll post was damaged and one of the sections of the cross-member was damaged. I managed to weld back one of the roll posts but the cross-member is a loss, so I made a new one that is one cross-member as opposed to last year's three section cross-member.
To accommodate the new cross-member, I had to cut out the inside sheet metal of the back doors.
Since I was cutting out the insides to the back doors, I went ahead and cut the insides of the driver's door. I am installing an internal secondary side-iron for driver's protection. I will not have a repeat of last August.
As you can see in the above pic, I am starting to install the roll post and the new cross-member.
Total money spent $120 - $60 for the radiators and $60 for the side-irons.
Total time spent: 6 hours.
